Week of 3/16/2020 Topic 1: Creating a routine & schedule
The "experts" say staying in a routine is one of the most healthy things your family can do at this time to stay productive and alleviate anxiety and boredom. I have linked a few simple daily schedules, which is are free downloads on teacher-pay-teachers. Keep the daily schedule flexible, or if need be specific with tasks and time frames. Use timers and even smart speakers to help kids stay in a routine.
Topic 2: Fighting Boredom (while limiting video game time & tv watching!). Below is a non-exhaustive list of ideas.
Update 3/20/20 - Here are some things we did this week! My kids made a design with craft sticks on the floor, then filled it with tractors, we took a visual tour of Blarney Castle in Ireland, we looked out the back window and saw horses, birds - robins and cardinals and even a bald eagle!! Can you believe it!! It flew right through our backyard yesterday evening. We read books, had a dance party, and played. Of course, Mr. Evans & I worked too. Happy exploring, creating, and learning!
